Amazing exhibition at Blenheim palace. Michelangelo Pistoretto is a contemporary artist influenced by the ART POVERA movement . He has created installations using everyday objects and mirrors.There are philosophical and political messages behind the artworks.
This pile of white and coloured rags is divided by a double-sided mirror so that observing from one side it appears only white or only coloured. He is saying something about difference and uniformity.
This piece, set in the chapel, is of Venus and the rags, saying something about beauty and how we perceive it.
This installation called Mappomondo or Globe was amazing. The inner globe was covered in newspaper cuttings including those referring to Brexit.
